Project Summary
When Cupertino Electric was approached to build a world-class data center in La Vista, Nebraska for Yahoo!, we welcomed the opportunity to again partner with General Contractor DPR Construction, Inc. (DPR)/Fortis Construction, Inc. (Fortis) on the project. The data center located near Omaha, Neb. is located on a 24.3-acre parcel of land.
The existing, 300,000 square-foot empty shell building meant that the entire infrastructure had to be constructed from the ground-up. This included utility feeds in the street, generators and transformers in the equipment yard, and an indoor UPS. The somewhat remote Nebraska site houses a critical server load spanning 57,000 square feet of four-foot raised floor.
